California Healthy Kids Survey and California School Parent Survey

Attention all Parents:

Please take a moment to complete the California School Parent Survey for Upland Junior High. This is an opportunity for your to help our school by sharing your opinions. We value your input, so please share by completing the survey. Click here to take the survey.

For all 7th Grade Families: The California Department of Education sponsors the California Healthy Kids Survey, which all of our 7th grade students will have the opportunity to complete. This survey helps promote better health and well-being among our youth, in addition to helping improve the learning environment by addressing problems such as drug abuse or violence.

The survey is voluntary, and it is anonymous. A sample of the survey is in the office available for review.

It will be administered through the PE classes during the week of November 6, and will take about one period to complete.

If you do not want your child to participate, please complete the CHKS Withdrawal Form, and return it to the school. All 7th grade students will be receiving this form on Wednesday, 10/4, so please look for it that evening. Thank you, and let us know if you have any questions.

Student Agenda/Planner

Parents:

All students have been given an Upland Junior High Student Handbook/Planner. Every week, they write down assignments/homework for classes. At a glance, you can see what they are working on or what they have for homework. If you have any questions on a particular assignment, please email your student's teacher on Schoolloop.

Please read over the handbook, and sign the appropriate signatures on page 2. Thank you for you support!

Grit and Growth Mindset

One of our five school-wide expectations is "Grit: passion and perseverance toward long-term goals."

We build grit by living the belief that with hard work, practice, and a support system, we can learn and improve at anything. We might not understand, know how, or be good at something--YET. It might not make sense--YET. We might not understand--YET. At Upland Junior High, we will be relentless at growing, embracing the challenge of learning, and constantly struggling to improve, learn, and stretch. This is what it means to "Get Rad" and embrace a growth mindset!

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE - ASISTENCIA A LA ESCUELA

Upland Junior High School supports the Upland Unified School District's focus: Every Single Student, Every Single Day! This focus means that your student should be at school every single day and on time. We realize that students are sometimes ill, and if they are, we want them to stay home. When making appointments, please try to make them after our 2:21 dismissal time. If you have to make an appointment during the day, please bring your student to school in the morning so they won't miss instruction. We are all a team and we want the best for the students at UJH. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the office.
